Who I Am
If you’re someone suffering from postpartum related concerns, you’ve come to the right place! I specialize in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and hold the position of Lehigh Valley coordinator for Postpartum Support International, where my main job is to educate on the topic of PMAD’s and get resources to mother’s and families in need! There is help available! This is temporary and treatable. This much I know for sure!
In addition to being a therapist, I am blessed to be called “mom” by three amazing boys who keep life exciting and my heart full! I am married to a man, that is not only my partner but someone I know will always be by my side, despite life’s ups and downs. He is my rock and my soft place to fall at the end of the day. His commitment to me and our family is something I treasure immensely.
I am a huge animal lover and consequently own a dog and two cats, who I must admit live quite a pampered life! All three were rescued. I enjoy the performing arts and occasionally I’m lucky enough to watch a performance from The Metropolitan Opera or catch a Broadway show. During the summer months I spend a lot of time poolside with my kids and we always make a point of getting some beach time!
I’m a self-proclaimed “chef” and enjoy entertaining family and friends, when the opportunity presents itself. I’m always cooking up something tasty! I find joy in the simple things: a cool breeze on a warm summer night, a vibrant rainbow after the rain, a delicious cup of coffee, the smell of honeysuckle, geese flying in formation, a meteor shower or watching a hot air balloon drift through the sky.
My Philosophy
Counseling is a process of self-discovery and growth, which requires work for all participants. I will provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment and vow to roll up my sleeves and work along side you to sort through the issues you’re facing. Throughout this collaborative process, I will also commit to being honest, direct, compassionate and even fun!
During our sessions, I will utilize a variety of counseling and mindfulness techniques. But mostly, I will hold a safe space for you to be “held”. We will set goals at the end of most sessions, so you keep up the momentum of your progress. I will also make recommendations when appropriate, for things like meditation, nutrition, self-help books or other resources that might aid in our journey together.
